Yuding Zhenren

Yuding Zhenren is one of the Twelve Golden Immortals of Kunlun Mountain and resides at Jinxia Cave on Yuquan Mountain. He is the master of Yang Jian (Erlang Shen), having trained him to become the supreme martial adept of the Chanjiao Sect; both the Eight-Nine Mystical Art and the Seventy-Two Transformations mastered by Yang Jian were transmitted directly by Yuding Zhenren. During the Investiture of the Gods campaign, his profound erudition proved indispensable: whenever Yang Jian encountered an unfamiliar demon or monster, he would descend the mountain to seek counsel, and Yuding Zhenren unfailingly identified its origin and nature—such as exposing the Seven Demons of Meishan and diagnosing Lü Yue’s plague poison. Yuding Zhenren also fought valiantly in the Ten-Thousand Immortals Formation. Revered by the common people as a sagacious Daoist immortal who cultivates talent and discerns demonic origins, his lineage stands pre-eminent among all masters of the Chanjiao Sect.
