Origin & Legend

Huanglong Zhenren is one of the Twelve Golden Immortals of Kunlun Mountain, residing at Magu Cave on Erxian Mountain. During the Investiture of the Gods war, he displayed exceptional zeal, descending the mountain repeatedly to aid Jiang Ziya: he assisted the Zhou forces in breaking the Ten Utterly Devastating Arrays; during the Yellow River Array battle, he was captured by the Three Xiao Sisters and imprisoned beneath Qilin Cliff; later, he was rescued. In the climactic Battle of the Ten Thousand Immortals, he fought valiantly—though once humiliated when the demon Ma Sui bound his head with a golden circlet, he remained unyielding and resolute. Renowned for his forthright, generous, and compassionate nature, Huanglong Zhenren served as a vital link among his fellow immortals and a steadfast supporter of the Western Qi regime; in popular belief, he is venerated as a Daoist immortal who aids those in distress and resolves difficulties.
